Rising Opera Sensation Briggs Williamson Releases Inspiring Music Video in Support of Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Barbados

DELAPLANE, VA — Briggs Williamson, age 17, an extraordinary young opera prodigy and rising senior at Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, has just unveiled a mesmerizing music video to aid the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Barbados.

This heartfelt production aims to raise awareness and generate funds to provide crucial medical care for children in Barbados affected by cystic fibrosis, while highlighting recent breakthroughs that have transformed the lives of patients living with CF.

Cystic fibrosis is a chronic and life-threatening genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. Globally, it impacts approximately 70,000 individuals, with around 30,000 of those residing in the United States alone. In the United States, the groundbreaking drug called Trikafta has significantly transformed the landscape of CF treatment. Trikafta targets the underlying cause of CF and has shown remarkable efficacy in improving lung function and overall health outcomes for patients.

However, in less fortunate countries like Barbados, access to such advanced CF medication and health care resources remains limited, resulting in significant disparities in life expectancy for individuals affected by CF. While the median life expectancy for CF patients in the United States has risen to nearly 50 years, the average lifespan for individuals in less-developed countries can be significantly shorter.

Motivated by personal experience and inspired by his older sister Hastings, who bravely lives with cystic fibrosis, Williamson felt called to make a positive impact on the lives of children in Barbados facing similar challenges. Witnessing the transformative effects of the newly-available CF medication on his sister’s health, Williamson was driven to support this cause by channeling his passion and talent into the creation of a powerful music video.

The song, “Fall on Me,” originally performed by Andrea Bocelli and his son, showcases Williamson’s exceptional vocal abilities. His rendering of both the Italian and English parts brings a new emotional depth to the performance — and reaches out to those suffering from a chronic disease and to the caregivers who support them.

The video features Williamson and his sister, as well as the children in Barbados who face the challenges of cystic fibrosis. It serves as a powerful reminder of the mission to help these children access the best possible medical care in the United States.

“We believe that every child deserves a chance at a better and healthier life,” says Williamson. “Through this music video and the support of generous donors, we can make a significant difference in the lives of these children in Barbados.” By supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Barbados, Williamson aims to provide children with access to life-changing medical care and empower them to pursue their dreams despite the challenges they face.

Individuals who wish to donate to “Briggs’ Hope” can go to Agape Blessings Cure and make contributions that will directly improve the lives of children in Barbados suffering from cystic fibrosis. Briggs is hoping to raise a minimum of $100,000 to assist the people from Barbados living with CF to obtain the necessary life-saving medication and medical care.
