Horn & Co. Opens Middleburg Office on Earth Day
Washington, D.C., landscape architecture firm puts down roots in the heart of Hunt Country.
MIDDLEBURG, VA — On Earth Day, April 22, Horn & Co. opens the doors of its new Middleburg office at 108 W. Washington Street — a date the Washington, D.C.-based landscape architecture and horticultural firm chose deliberately. For a practice built on the belief that beautiful gardens and a healthy natural world are not in conflict but in conversation, there could be no more fitting day to join this community.
Middleburg readers will recognize in Horn & Co. a kindred sensibility. The firm designs high-end residential and commercial gardens that respond to their surroundings — to the architecture of the home, to the history of the land, and to the rhythms of the seasons. Working closely with architects, the company composes spaces that are as thoughtful as they are beautiful, and that thrive year after year with minimal environmental cost.

Sustainability is not an add-on — it is the foundation. Every Horn & Co. design prioritizes native plantings, locally sourced materials, and ethically sourced products. Each garden is also conceived for the long term, adaptable to a client’s changing needs across the seasons and the years.
While most of Horn & Co.’s work is private, the firm has designed the landscape for Crimson Lane Vineyards and collaborated with the Oak Spring Garden Foundation team on its Children’s Garden.
“We believe that built landscapes can coexist with the natural world, thriving and providing joy to our clients and the species that live there. We want the design experience to be enjoyable, invigorating, and educational — leaving clients with a sense of peace and wonder.” –Jennifer Horn, founder

With an established portfolio spanning Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Delaware, and New York, the firm is no stranger to the region. But Middleburg, with its extraordinary landscape, its deep equestrian and agricultural heritage, and its community of people who truly love the land, feels like home. Horn & Co. is honored to be here — and eager to get to work.
