Creighton Farms Ascends to 10th in Golf Digest’s Top 25 Golf Courses in Virginia Rankings

ALDIE, VA — Creighton Farms, a 900-acre gated community located in rolling horse country just west of Washington, D.C., ranked in the top 10 of Golf Digest’s prestigious “Best in State” Virginia rankings.

Presenting the top golf courses, both private and public, in the commonwealth, the latest Golf Digest rankings saw Creighton Farms soar five places to 10th. Since its opening, Creighton Farms has consistently ranked in the top 20 of these rankings. In the 2019-20 rankings, the club also finished 10th.

Opened in 2007, the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course is the crown jewel of Creighton Farms. Characterized as “tough but rewarding,” the 18-hole course stretches to 7,365 yards and boasts a slope of 153. The par-72 layout features wide rolling fairways and undulating putting surfaces, with striking elevation changes that add both spectacular views and challenges. Another hallmark of the golf course is the condition — often, the course is regarded to be “maintained to a level of perfection that would make you think no one plays there.”

“It’s an honor to see our golf course held in such high regard by Golf Digest, and it’s our goal to continue to move up the list of best golf courses in Virginia and the entire Eastern Seaboard,” said Larry Spielberg, general manager of Creighton Farms. “We continue to set the bar high when it comes to our golf course, and we’ve worked really hard to create an exceptional golf experience.”

In addition to the course, the club’s golf facilities include extensive practice facilities, including a double-ended practice range, a dedicated short game practice area, practice putting greens, and The Stable, a new state-of-the-art teaching and golf learning center. The Stable features Trackman Simulation software, three indoor/outdoor all-season hitting bays, indoor putting, a club-fitting studio, SportsBoxAI, and more.

Club members enjoy a full calendar of tournaments along with instructional opportunities by PGA teaching professional Erika Larkin. Recognized by Golf Digest in 2022 as one of the 50 best teachers in America, Larkin has also been recognized as Virginia’s top instructor since 2014.

Located in the D.C. suburbs, the Creighton Farms golf course has an Audubon Sanctuary Certification for its environmental preservation. In addition to golf, Creighton Farms also offers a beautiful clubhouse with a restaurant and bar, locker rooms, nine luxurious club rooms for overnight stays, a separate pool complex with a two-tier pool for kids and adults, a two-story wellness center, tennis and pickleball, a turn grill, and more amenities planned for the near future.

Creighton Farms has limited club memberships and some spectacular home sites still available.
