Polo Classic to Benefit Cloverleaf Equine Center

Largest Annual Fundraiser to Support Equine-Assisted Programs

CLIFTON, VA — Cloverleaf Equine Center will hold its 17th annual Polo Classic on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Great Meadow in The Plains, VA. Gates open at noon.

Guests will be treated to an afternoon of polo, live and silent auctions, music, drinks, and dining in the heart of Virginia’s picturesque hunt and wine country. The event will benefit Cloverleaf’s mission to provide equine-assisted services to children and adults with disabilities, youth from marginalized communities, and military service personnel and their families. All proceeds are used to subsidize lessons for Cloverleaf clients and assist with general operations at the farm.

Cloverleaf Equine Center is excited to welcome back a more family-friendly general admission section to this year’s event. Named the “Goalside Party,” ticket holders will be treated to a spacious, tented seating and lounge area located along the west end of the polo arena. New to the event this year is a children’s ticket option for kids ages 6-14 (children under 6 are free). The Kids Corral will feature kid-friendly fare, drinks, and activities that include a photo op with Cloverleaf’s two miniature horses, Teddy and Eleanor!

Special events include music by local band 2MB; the color guard of St. Andrew’s Society of Washington, D.C., accompanied by Cloverleaf military riders; and Cloverleaf clients participating in a halftime demonstration — a choreographed drill pattern on horseback set to music.

Many individuals and local businesses donated more than 200 items to this year’s live and online silent auctions, including weekend getaways, golf packages, restaurant gift certificates, autographed sports memorabilia, and more.

A special thank you to the lead 2023 Cloverleaf Polo Classic sponsors: ITCON, Crescent Cities Charities, Ginny & Bill Craig, AT&T, Deloitte, Gary & Kim Cubbage, Campbell Wealth Management, Barry & Alla Cline, Kelly & Alan Harbitter, Norton Family, Brian Santo & Janelle Nowak-Santo, Planet Direct, MEBS Global, Children’s Charities, and Delta and Sheila Clark.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available at cloverleafequinecenter.org/polo.
